ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in the friendly city of Moose Jaw Saskatchewan. I graduated from Central Collegiate High School in 2013. After that I pursued my dream of teaching, where I am now currently in the process of completing a bachelor of education elementary degree through Mount Royal University, at the Medicine Hat College. Ever since being in high school I always knew that I belonged in a classroom. I enjoyed school so much as a student that I never wanted to leave. That reinforced my decision of wanting to be a teacher and my first year in the education program only increased my excitement. I love working with all kinds of children and adults so I can continue to learn new ideas and expand my worldview. My plan for the future is to graduate from Medicine Hat College with an elementary degree as I love working with and developing the minds of young children. In my first practicum semester I was fortunate enough to be apart of a Grade 7, 8 and 9 classroom at Parkside School under the guidance of Mr. Lorne Toews. In my second semester, I found myself at George Davison School as apart of Mr. Moore's 1st Grade classroom. I owe a big thank you to both of these amazing teachers as they welcomed me into their classrooms with open arms, and one day hope I can give back to the field of education just like they have. Extra curricular activities I am apart of include the 2013/2014 MHC Men's Basketball Team. During this time I learned a necessary lesson about the importance of time management, and I believe being apart of the basketball team has turned me into a more responsible student and person. In my spare time I enjoy playing and watching many different sports including hockey, basketball, volleyball, badminton, baseball, bowling and many more. I did a variety of volunteering Helped coach the Palliser Heights A1 and A2 boys basketball teams since January 2013 and will continue to coach until the end of the season. This mostly involved supporting the players, having fun and working with them individually to fulfill their maximum potential as people on and off the court. I really enjoy working with youth whether it's inside or outside of the classroom, because I've had many people help me during my journey and it would be amazing if I could be that mentor to as many young students as possible.
