PHILOSOPHY OF TEACHING
The first step to success when educating students begins when teachers satisfy all students needs, by allowing them to learn more about themselves and how they learn most effectively. By taking the time to become familiar with many of the multiple intelligence's such as kinesthetic, interpersonal, intra-personal, musical, logical, and other kinds of intelligences, the educator can then add unique plans that focus on these learning strategies that will give the most effective results for the learners that relate to those categories. Once this has been completed, students can truly excel in their own personal ways that show the differences and unique traits found in each particular classroom. Parents and guardians should be encouraged to take interest in their child's learning, and watch them perform the everyday objectives that is expected of them. Agenda's are a great tool to incorporate into the classroom for both the students and the parents, especially at a young age because then the parents become involved in their child's learning and notice that they are also an important part in the progression of their kid, both academically and socially. Teachers should be someone students can look up too, as well as a friend who also takes an interest in their lives inside and outside of the classroom, to further their relationship with the students when it's necessary to do so. I also believe it is key that educators stay in control as well as professional, but they also need to ensure that the classroom is a friendly and positive environment for the children. Assessments should be a reflection of the students grades and intelligence in the classroom, as well should involve a bit of personal assessment that may consist of various traits that students can build on as the year progresses. In general, all teachers should have the goal in mind to begin every new year of school by maintaining a positive view on the adventure that lies ahead, that will involve many new students coming into the classroom who are excited and prepared to learn. The goal of teaching is to provide students with the necessary knowledge to succeed in life. Along with this comes both the confidence and determination to chase the important goals that lie ahead, followed by success. An educators job is to provide motivation and leadership through tough times, by supporting the students in an attempt to complete the necessary objectives. It is also the teachers responsibility to be the most knowledgeable person in the classroom, while feeling relaxed and providing students with the space to learn important ideas and concepts for themselves. Teachers must also encourage total class involvement, which can be done using Kagan structures such as Think, Pair, Share and Talking Chips. Student lives are filled with endless expectations and pressure to do well and succeed based on grades, so the classroom should be a safe environment where they can feel free to be themselves and have fun while they learn. It has been proven that a fun and relaxed classroom environment is very important when it comes to how all people learn. By incorporating a number of things into your classroom such as unique colors, decorations, lighting, music, etc. the students react by feeling more motivated to learn while feeling comfortable and less stressed which leads to more effective results. When students focus and become more developed on their strengths and weaknesses inside the classroom, it will give them the courage and ability they need both academically and personally to succeed outside of the classroom as well. The results of successful development will become most noticeable in students when they take the time to expand their worldview and see the beginning of each day of school as a gift, rather than a form of punishment. When students are allowed to learn cooperatively in tribes, pods or other small groups, it provides them with unique ideas that they've never thought of on their own, so incorporating collaborative learning in the classroom is a vital element for developing academic success in the minds of our students! My philosophy and worldview of teaching has only just begun, and will only become deeper as I continue to learn and gain experience.
